Yard Sentinel – Electronic Pest & Animal Control Repeller Review
Amazing plug-in adjustable pest repellent with motion sensor, ultrasonic and sonic noise alarms.
Constantly finding uprooted plants and unwanted holes in my garden which took a long time to get right, the time came to finally say enough is enough. In comes the Yard Sentinel – Electronic Pest & Animal Control Repeller
In the box, the following are included:
The Yard Sentinel
10 Meter Extension Cable
Raw-Plugs and Screws.
My initial thought was that the device seemed very durable and was bigger than expected. Upon removing the back cover which was quite fiddly at first you are greeted with the main controls of the device, the battery compartment and the socket for the mains power adapter. This is where you get to see how fully customisable the device is with the options to adjust the motion sensor sensitivity, operating times, sonic volume, pest type etc.
With the sentinel having a motion sensor it will be triggered by any movement it detects and can be set to operate either 24 hours a day or day/night individually. Three different modes are available which can emit various frequencies and sounds depending on your required setup and can be adjusted to your needs. It also has a dial that you can adjust that is labelled with the type of pest you would like to deter.
The operating modes which can be used fall under two categories, sonic signals which are an audible alarm that humans can hear (the volume of this can be adjusted) and ultrasonic which is so high only pests can hear it. The modes are as follows:
• Constant: Activates ultrasonic and sonic noises and cycles through them at the range you fix at varying intervals.
• Motion Sensor: Activates ultrasonic and sonic sounds when pests are in range.
• Continuous sweep: Activates ultrasonic and sonic sounds randomly at intervals.
I have mine on motion sensor mode at the moment and it seems to be doing the job, no more holes or poop for a couple of days, it may take a few weeks before it becomes totally effective but so far so good. I would definitely recommend it to anyone with similar issues.
